Assalamualaikum to my respective lecturer, Dr. Fariza and my fellow friends! Today is our very first meeting on Computer in Education course so I felt my heart beating so fast waiting the lecturer in the computer laboratory. It occurred not because I am afraid of Dr. Fariza but I am afraid of the course because I am a bit lacking in handling computer and has low-interest in exploring the technology. However, I consoled myself by reminiscing this particular quote which was ‘the road of education is bitter, but the fruit is sweet’. This quote actually keeps my mind stay positive throughout my high-strung times. Without any further due, let’s head up to what I have been through today.
First thing first, Dr. Fariza asked all of the students to create a Gmail account to those who did not have one. Next, we were told to create our own signature on Gmail. The purpose of her instruction was if we send an email to any person especially to lecturers under faculties or any other formal institution, they will be able to acknowledge who is the one that sending the email to them, who they are from and how to contact them if there is any necessary case. At first, I did not know that Gmail has such formal thingy to present myself to my future email recipients so I was so amazed when I knew the purpose of creating the signature. I thought the signature section was in the left buttons so I cannot discover anything there then I try to click on Gmail right buttons and finally discover the signature part. Thank God. In my opinion, creating the signature able to let one to introduce himself in both formal and informal way. Besides that, it simplifies the recipients to get to know who are sending the email to them.
Next, Dr. Fariza briefed us a little bit on Weebly.com. She said that we are going to put our assignments, reflections and bio data there. This particular website again amazed me on how we are able to show to the world our assignments. People from all around the world able to view our assignments and sound off their opinions about our work there. I define Weebly.com as source-like-website where we able to show our work result or view other person’s work result. It is like an inspirational platform where strangers gather their raw point of views to be valued by people. Dr. Fariza then asked us the differences between Weebly.com and Blog. Below are the differences that I found between blog and weebly. And till I write here again!!
XOXO
